Congratulations to Ballantrae member Jack Harrison on making an Ace on the 17th hole on Sunday, September 5, 2010. Jack, who is 77 years young hit a 7 iron from 128 yards to record the perfect shot! Witnesses were Sthepn Bourgoin, Mark Bourgoin and Stephen Zouboukis. Way to go!
Congratulations to Jim and Janet Hess for making an unbelievable Double Eagle on the par 5 4th hole during the BLGA couples event on Friday, August 20, 2010. After a perfect fairway drive by Janet, Jim stepped up and knocked it in from 240 yards out. A truly magnificent feat! Congratulations!
Congratulations to James Washer for making a Hole-In-One during the Club Championship! Using a Pitching Wedge on the 128 yard 5th Hole. Witnesses were Rick Wilson and Brad Hamm. Congrats James on the perfect shot!

Susan, the reigning Women's Club Champion and student of General Manager Butch Byrd, accomplished her goal and achieved this special milestone by doing what sounds so simple....”play one shot at a time” Congratulations Susan!
Congratulations to member Bob Collins for making a Hole-in-One on the 17th Hole at Ballantrae on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Playing 156 yards, Mr. Collins hit an 8-iron to record the Perfect shot! Witnesses were Ronny and Debbie Evans.
Our member Jesse Lester made his first ever Hole-In-One on Ballantrae hole #3 on Friday, July 2, 2010. The hole was playing 143 yards and Jess used a #7 iron for the “ACE”! Witnesses were Charley and Roberta Still and Bill Charles.
Congratulations to Hugh Marion for shooting a career low 71 on Saturday, June 5, 2010! Hugh shot a 37 on the front side and came back with four birdies on the back to shoot a 34. Congrats Hugh on the great round!
Congratulations to Joe Kovacs for making a Hole-in-One on Thursday, May 27th. Hitting a 8-iron from the III tees from 156 yards on the Par 3 3rd hole. Witnessed by his son Tim Kovacs. Congratulations again to Joe for hitting this perfect shot!
Congratulations to Hugh Hogue for making a Hole-in-One on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9th. Hitting a 9-iron from 113 yards on the Par 3 5th hole, Hugh was able to record his very first Ace by hitting the flagstick on the fly and slam dunking it to the bottom of the cup, an absolutely perfect shot indeed. Witnesses on hand included his wife, Linda and Ballantrae staff members Alvin Parker (witnessing his 2nd in 2 days!!) and Dave Houghton. Congratulations again to Hugh for hitting this amazing shot.
Congratulations to Frank Blankenship for shooting his career low-round!! Frank shot 78
on Saturday, April 17th in the member dogfight finishing in 1st place with a net score of 60!
After going out in 40, Frank had a bit of a stumble on #12 but came in with 5 pars and a
birdie to card 38 on the back and securing a career low round and first place. Congratulations
Frank!
Don Burford
The Ballantrae Golf Club staff would like to congratulate Don Burford on
making ANOTHER hole-in-one on December 9th, 2009. This hole-in-one comes
exactly a month after his previous one. The hole was #8 and he used a 5 iron
from the IV tees from 158 yards into the wind. Witnesses were Wayne
Buchanan and Michael Higdon. Congratulations on making yet another hole-in-
one Don!
Don Burford
The Ballantrae Golf Club staff would like to congratulate Don Burford on
making a hole-in-one on November 9th, 2009. The hole was #8 and he used
a 6-iron from the IV tees at 158 yards. Witnesses were Michael Higdon,
Bob Collins, and Wayne Buchanan. Congratulations on your hole-in-one Don!

Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Ballantrae
Golf Club!! The hole-in-one was on Hole #3 from 135 yards with a 7-iron.
The witnesses were Mike Ream, Bill Shanahan, and Ray Merritt.

Carl Nelson
Congratulations to Carl Nelson on shooting his career low round on Thursday, October
1, 2009!! With a final birdie on 18, Carl was able to round up 8 birdies to shoot a
bogey-free 64!! This flawless round is recorded as the lowest round ever shot from the
IV tees!! Congratulations on this great accomplishment Carl!!
Mike Craft
We would like to congratulate Mike Craft on making his first hole-in-one on
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Ballantrae Golf Club. The hole-in-one was
on Hole #14 from 198 yards with a 3-iron. Witnesses were
Reggie Spires, Eric Wok, and David Cochran. Congratulations Mike on your
hole-in-one!
Charlene Owens
Congratulations Charlene Owens!!! Charlene shot her career low round score of 88 at Peninsula in Gulf Shores playing with her husband Jim. Charlene shot 42 on the front nine, which included 3 pars and 1 birdie. Followed by a back nine score of 46 with one par. Way to Go Charlene!!!
Jim Raines
Jim Raines had a hole-in-one on September 16, 2009 at Ballantrae Golf Club. The hole-in-one was on hole 17 from 160 yards with a 7-iron. Witnesses were Ralph Conrad, Howard Haddock, and Buck Southall. Congratulations Jim on your hole-in-one!
Justin Nolen
Justin Nolen, Grandson of Member Bobby Hayes, and a Student of Ballantrae General Manager Butch Byrd, posted scores of 75-71 to take First Place in the Alabama Junior Golf Tour Championship Tournament. Justin Nolen not only won his 14-15 Age Group, he posted the low score for all Age Groups! Two years ago, Justin who was playing left handed was converted to play right handed. Congratulations Justin on your hard work, dedication and your Big Win!!!
Susan McDaniel
Congratulations Susan McDaniel from the staff at Ballantrae Golf Club!!! Susan shot a career low 9 hole score of 39 on Sunday September 6, 2009.
Janet Hess
Congratulations to Janet Hess for shooting a career low round on Sunday August 23, 2009. A birdie on Hole #17 propelled her to finishing with her lowest round of 88. Her former low round was an 89. Way to go Janet!!
Ron Maxwell

Carl Nelson
Congratulations to Carl Nelson for finishing 2nd in the Alabama Senior Open, Super Senior Division!! The event was held June 26th - June 28th and at Selma Country Club. Carl's three day total was 232.
Matt O'Brien
Matt O'Brien had a hole in one on hole #14, May 3 2009. He used a 2-wood from 229 yards. Matt was playing with his Dad Bob O'brien and Mark Weeks. Congratulations Matt!!!
Don Burford
Don Burford had a hole-in-one on #5 on June 7th, 2009. He used a 9-iron from the III tees. He reported landing just a few feet short and slowly running into the hole. Very nice Don!

Hugh Hogue shot his best round ever at Ballantrae Golf Club on June 7th, 2009. Hugh shot a cool 77 from the III Tees! Let's congratulate him!
Jack Price shot his age!
Jack Price, who is a member as well as a host here at Ballantrae Golf Club shot his age on Thursday June 4th, 2009! Jack Price is 75 years old. Let us congratulate him on this great accomplishment!
Bill Marchman
Bill Marchman recently shot a score of 78. Bill is 82 years old and repeatedly shoots his age. Bill is a great player let's congratulate him on his round!
